Six Principles of Effective eLearning
In this article, Clark discusses what eLearning is and how it is utilized in education. Clark describes how the work of Professor Mayer and his colleagues developed principles that followed cognitive theory of learning. Cognitive theory of learning is based on learning following how the human mind works. Mayer came up with a group of principles that would help to reduce cognitive overload to learners.

With the progression to more online courses, educators are challenged with providing effective learning to it's students. I feel like these principles provide a great guideline to help educators design more meaningful presentations. There is a great deal of diversity between learners, so utilizing these principles can have provide a solid base to begin designing. From there, educators must consider the content and audience.

It's easy for learners to become overwhelmed with information, so it should be the goal to make the learning experience positive for every student. By practicing some of the listed theories, educators can develop curriculum that can reach a variety of learners, no matter their learning styles.
